My Project
The Gingerbread Man book is a favorite of my students. They love to look at our one copy of the story and re-tell the book using the pictures, they have learned a lot of the language from the text already. I want to use their interest in this story and deeper develop their love of books, while encouraging them to re-tell the story with puppets, and use their inquiry skills to figure out "how could the gingerbread man have gotten across the river safely?"
This season we want to compare and contrast different versions of this beloved fairytale, acting it out with puppets, using STEM toys to problem solve how the gingerbread man could have crossed the river safely, and create our gingerbread people with various materials.
We'll culminate this event by making our own edible gingerbread houses for our gingerbread people to live in, until their house gets eaten that is!
