My Students
Our charter school of 300 is diverse in two ways: we serve students from Kindergarten through 8th grade, and we have a higher than average population of students with special needs. Our 10-year-old leadership school is proud to have recently earned the designation of Lighthouse School, based on the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Students.
When in normal session, we have monthly student-led and student-produced Lighthouse assemblies where we celebrate successes and highlight student accomplishments.
This year, of course, we have started the year virtually, and students will continue to study music virtually for the rest of the school year.
My Project
Our middle school music classes require that students check out instruments from school to take home. The ukuleles we already have came with only a lightweight bag - not enough to keep them protected.
These GIG BAGS are lightweight, but padded enough to keep the ukuleles from getting scratched and broken - both in transit and at home.
As winter approaches, caring for our musical instruments by supplying padded GIG BAG cases for the ukuleles is paramount to keeping them safe and sound for this year's students and for students in the years to come.
