My Project

As a kindergarten teacher of 16 years, I have had the privilege to provide countless ‘first-time’ opportunities to my students. Out of all the ‘first time’ experiences my students have during the year, my favorite one has always been the time they get to create gifts for their families. They get so excited with the idea of making gifts and giggle at the thought of keeping it secret until the day they take the gifts home.

Very Important Person Day, also known as Mother/Father’s Day, gives the perfect opportunity for students to create something special for their family members.

Rocks and pony beads are for them to paint and create photo holders for VIP/Mother’s Day. Wooden trays are for them to draw pictures and create ’catchalls’ for VIP/Father’s Day.

I realize that gift-giving is not something we are required to do as a teacher, but I consider it as a part of special experiences that I want my students to have. I truly appreciate any support I can get to get this project funded. Thank you so much for your consideration!
