My Project
Help me give my students a pre-graduate vocational focus in music production so they can further improve the skills and experience needed to pursue a career in the music industry or related fields. This will provide them with a competitive edge that will enhance quality high school-to-college and high school-to-work-force articulation.
My music program has the opportunity to provide my students with invaluable real-life studio and live recording experiences before they graduate high school, effectively positioning them a step ahead of their peers.
The school district where I teach is quite large, consisting of 34 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, and 7 high schools. I have exciting ideas for providing my students with live recording opportunities centered around authentic performances by aspiring musicians. For instance, our district features a Music and Theatre Magnet program that presents several performances and practices throughout the year. These programs dedicate two hours each day to working with their students. Additionally, there are thousands of elementary students across the district eager to step into the recording artist spotlight. I believe that teachers will welcome my students recording talents and help foster networking opportunities. This initiative aligns well with my principal's vision of developing a vocational focus for our students.
