My Project
My students are sharp, hilarious, and full of untapped potential—and boy, do they love a good plot twist! They come to our continuation high school from all walks of life, often having faced more at 16 than most folks do in a lifetime. But when you put the right manga in their hands, magic happens. Suddenly, the room is quiet, pages are turning, and even the most “too-cool-to-read” teen is deep in Tokyo Ghoul or Hunter x Hunter.
Over the last seven years, we've built an incredible classroom library filled with engaging manga and graphic novels—but as books travel in backpacks and between hands, some get lost along the way.
This project helps us replace fan-favorite books that have been well-loved (and well-worn), while completing collections that spark joy and literacy in our room. With your help, we’ll restock our shelves with pulse-pounding, visually rich stories by Junji Ito, Sui Ishida, and more, giving students both the escapism and connection they crave.
