My Students

My students are talented, creative, energetic, engaged and full of potential! I teach roughly 450 students at a Title I school located in in Georgia. Majority of them live in poverty and are low-income. Even though they live in these demographics, they do not allow their circumstances to define who they are and how they reach their successes. Being a diverse group, they differ in socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicity, and culture. However, they come to school each day with positive attitudes and are ready to learn, no matter what their home lives entails. What they do have in common is their passion to be actively engaged!

My Project

The music room sees about 400-450 eager learners each week, many with a variety of needs. Because of space constraints, much of the music time is spent maneuvering chairs, which also takes away the enjoyment of the exciting range of fun music class has to offer.

Help me provide my students with Flex-Space Balance Ball Seats for flexible seating solutions for our elementary music classroom.

With these movement seats my students can successfully learn and become more actively engaged in my music curriculum.

As a Fine Arts teacher, I want to establish a sense of community and culture that will simultaneously have a positive impact on all my students. As opposed to the traditional approach of teaching, I intend to incorporate a method of flexible seating in the classroom which in turn will promote student engagement and a positive learning environment.
