This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students enjoy school immensely. Sometimes they get so excited about learning it seems they will just burst. It is infectious.

My students are from a high-poverty region and are predominantly bilingual or English Language Learners.

The students and their families are motivated learners. Some of our parents even come to school to learn along with their children. They are all excited to discover and explore. My amazing kids are deserving of so much more than their economic status currently allows, and I want to do everything I can to help them reach a brighter future.

My Project

We are requesting biographies written for children on the world's greatest artists. My students love learning about the people behind the art we view, discuss, and imitate. These books will allow them to learn more about artists' personal lives and about their art and how it transformed over time. These books are written at an elementary level making them interesting and engaging for my young students.

These books are excellent introductions to famous artists and their works.

Accompanied by full-color reproductions of actual paintings are interesting story lines following the artist's life and discussing their style and how it progressed over time.

I know they will be excited to use these books in the art classroom. Thank you for considering a donation to my deserving students.
