My Project
My students come to me from the previous grade and are ready to write poetry yearly. They are challenged with the reality that they must be prepared to write informational text, quote text from a source correctly, and learn the figurative language, to name a few things they will learn this year. The tools needed to motivate them to write and publish this year (Printer, laminator with pouches, Punch cards for positive reinforcement) are required to get the writing center moving forward. We seek this generation's Maya Angelou, James Baldwin, or William Shakespeare.
These tools will assist them and future 5th graders in showing, demonstrating, publishing, and proudly displaying their writing prowess for anyone who will view it.
