Getting The Writer's Workshop Off the Ground!

My students need materials for their writing workshop. Pencils go fast in this classroom with lots of writing happening. Colorful pens and papers make writing special and tote trays and organizing bins will help as well.

My Students

Help cure writer's block! Students have been writing so much they have used up all their pencils and erasers! My students love writing on unique paper and to be able to choose a pen to use to publish after all their hard work. Those tools and some organizing tubs would complete our writing station!

This school is full of a diverse group of hard working students.

My class works together to help contribute to their community and the world by donating spare change to Pennies for Peace and a canned food drive. Despite the adversities they may face at home, over half of the population is on free or reduced lunch, they come everyday with an eagerness to learn and help others.

My Project

The classroom has a corner of the room already dedicated to the writing process. I'm asking for some help in purchasing pencils and erasers for planning, and drafting their writing. Precious time is wasted waiting in line at the pencil sharpener and if the class had a tub of sharpened pencils awaiting them they could easily get back to work with little time lost! Once the students have created a piece of writing that they will revise and edit, the writing station will include colorful themed writing paper. Finally, they will be able to select a bright gel pen to put the final touches on a published piece of writing, adding to the uniqueness in their work.
