Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are all unique, creative, and wonderful individuals who are passionate about learning and impacting the world around them. Every day, they make brilliant connections during class discussions, bring together fresh ideas from their diverse experiences, and ask insightful questions that never seem to satiate their curiosity for learning and exploring.
With all of their ideas, questions, and connections, there never seems to be enough time in a single class or day to address each one individually.
This year, I want to create more spaces in our classroom to use as "parking lots" for their ideas and encourage my students to explicate their thinking in innovative ways that suit their method(s) of learning. I am requesting post-it notes so that students can jot down their ideas quickly, display units for spotlighting student work, and utility boxes for organizing their learning tools, among other resources. With these tools, I am hopeful that we will be able to launch a year of innovative and fun learning where students can express themselves and their ideas in imaginative ways.
