My Students

My students are amazing. They're bright, determined, helpful, inquisitive, and have a drive to want to learn like no other. However, our school is in an area of low income and as a result our school has been labeled a Title I school by the state of Georgia. This means we receive extra funding from the state, but often times the kids never see that in the classroom as the money is used elsewhere before it even reaches my students in the classroom.

I would love to be able to provide more technology in my classroom so that my kids can keep up with this vastly growing technological age we're raising.

The wonders that more technology could bring to my classroom are endless. I hope you will help me in making this project possible for my kids. Thank you!

My Project

Having the set of Kindle Fires will allow for different structures of learning in my classroom. One way they will be used is as a STEM center. Students can look up pictures of catapults and then design their own using nothing more than Popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and Pom-poms. I'll be able to download apps for various math practice skills for a math center, which would allow me to have activities for both my highest performing and most struggling students.

My project will make a difference because, as I said before, these students are the digital natives.

Our classrooms are not yet at the level technologically to meet their needs as learners. Your support will help to close that gap just a little bit more.
