My Students
Our school was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy, and as a result we lost all of our supplies and our response to intervention material. As we continue on with our rebuilding the students can use the iPad to help differentiate their learning.
My students are a combination of general education students and children who are on the autistic spectrum.
They are kind, loving, inquisitive, and open to all new experiences. Our class is a family who takes care of and learns from each other on a daily basis.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad mini and a case for my students. My students will be able to use the iPad in conjunction with their new reading and math programs to help them meet the Common Core Learning Standards. The children will also use the iPad for research projects and for social interaction between the ASD Nest students and their peers.
This project is so important because it will help replace some of physical items that were lost in the storm with resources that the students can access on the Internet.
It will also help the students meet the new rigorous Standards.
