My Students

For the 2019-2020 school year, I am teaching mathematics to a wonderful group of 6th-grade students. These students are transitioning from the elementary school they attended since Kindergarten to a middle/high school that serves students from 6th-grade through 12th-grade.

The district I work in is a small tight-knit community.

The students are energetic and focused on advancing their academic careers. Teachers are able to foster positive, encouraging, and continuing relationships with their students since the students stay at the same school for 6 years.

My Project

Studies show that students who are more active while learning process information faster and more successfully (Education Week Teacher). My goal is to create a classroom that welcomes all learners and provides them a safe space to experiment and learn. I want to ensure the success of all students!

The requested materials will assist me in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for my students and include an electric pencil sharpener, storage crates, and a Magnetic Letter Number with Magnet Board.

The materials will also help me plan instruction according to students' needs and foster a comfortable learning environment. My students will benefit from the implementation of these resources and I look forward to updating our classroom with them.
