My Students
When books are missing from the popular book series they get discouraged from reading these books. There are some great series out there - don't let my students miss out!
Our school is in a high poverty area in a small Midwest town.
We are a middle school with 7th and 8th grades. Getting students to read is a high priority with our teachers, but we lack the resources to provide our students with high quality books.
Series books are a great way to introduce students to interesting books. Once you get them "hooked" into a series that they enjoy they often finish the entire series. Our kids need all the encouragement and resources that we can provide. Often they want to read these books but are discouraged when the series are incomplete or there is only one copy of each title.
Word of mouth is a good way to promote reading. Kids talk about the great books they are reading, but when they are not available the kids miss the opportunity.
My Project
I am requesting books that will fill in the titles of the most popular series books that our students are reading. Help us to make our students like to read and improve literacy skills. This is a wonderful opportunity to provide the good books that our students want to read but are not currently available to them. You can make a difference in their lives when you donate to this project.

We have about 400 students in our school. By completing the titles in these series of books the students are encouraged to read more.
