My students need Scholastic News and Scope Text Sets to, not only read and learn vocabulary, but also to provide them with broader thoughts and ideas.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Dorethy's classroom raised $393

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My colleague and I are assisting the first Young Entrepreneur's Club for our school. Our public charter school is an eclectic mix of middle and high school students working hard to overcome obstacles and to achieve success regardless of their personal situations. Almost 80% of our students qualify for free or reduced price meals.
We have a 0% drop-out rate and a 100% college acceptance rate.
Our dedicated staff takes a personal interest in helping our students succeed not only academically but socially and emotionally as well. It is our goal to produce well-balanced, productive young adults that have the tools they need to be responsible, contributing members of society.
My Project
Every entrepreneur is always in the state of looking for new ideas and how to implement their ideas into a business. Besides, the ideas alone, business formation and ownership can be ever changing. Scholastic News and Scope will provide my students with new and up to date ideas and research that are more along the age of my students.
The Scholastic Magazine will provide the student's reading material for research that is essential to business formation and will keep it age appropriate.
My students are from different cultural backgrounds and some have ESL concerns. In that regard, the more material these children read, the more they will begin to understand American business and American ethics.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
