Getting Ready for the Fall!

My students need supplies for our classroom when they come back to school this fall. This includes six boxes of No.2 pencils five boxes of Wite-Out,106 clear shoe boxes, 70 composition books, a dozen clipboards, and five cases of Bic pens.

My Students

My babies are some of the smartest, hardest working, mentally tough students in the city! In the heart of it, lies our small but mighty school in it's third year of turnaround. What that means for the students was new teachers, new administrators, new everything. But it also meant passionate, dedicated, hard-working, loving adults around every corner of the building. These adults have allowed our babies to grow and recognize their potential.

While my babies might not have much in the way of physical "stuff", they have perseverance and heart.

That is why they deserve to have the simple things needed for any school/classroom in America. I never want my students to have to worry about pencils or band-aids when they are trying to play catch up in terms of a massive achievement gap. That is why I take that weight on myself. They deserve the best. They are worth it!

My Project

My students need supplies for our classroom when they come back to school this fall. This includes six boxes of No.2 pencils five boxes of Wite-Out,106 clear shoe boxes, 70 composition books, a dozen clipboards, and five cases of Bic pens. My students need these supplies but unfortunately can't always purchase them due to their financial situations. Pens, book boxes, laminates, labels, whiteout, folders, comp notebooks, staples are all needed for middle school!

Having a fully stocked classroom for my students allows them to come back to school in the fall and focus on one thing - learning!

No child should be nervous to go to school because they can't purchase a pen or pencil.

By being able to focus on learning and not what supplies students don't have, we have been able to make year over year gains in 6th grade - a promotion year! Now, we will have these same students as I move to teach 7th and 8th grade!
