Getting Ready for Kindergarten Using Ipad Technology
My students need an ipad to allow them to interact with modern technology.

My Students
"Knowledge is power!" I was saying this the other day to my Preschoolers. We had been talking about our math facts and several of them were siting math addition facts that they knew. I teach Preschool students ranging from 4 to 5 years old. They live in a very impoverished section of Detroit. In fact, they qualify for free preschool because of their lower socio-economic status.
My teaching philosophy is the more knowledge I can give them, the more power they can gain.
At a Preschool level so much learning is done in a plan/do/review setting. The more tools and technology we have in the classroom, the more chances each child have to gain knowledge at their own level.
My Project
Many of my preschoolers come from impoverished environments where there is little to no educational technology. At this point we have 1 ipad that is shared amongst 16 children. Everyone wants to have their time with it, but only a few can use it throughout the day.
Another situation that occurs in our school is how children are assessed.
Starting in Kindergarten, children are tested using computers and ipads. By granting my wish for an ipad for my classroom, my children will be able to have more hands on experiences using technology and hands on learning if my grant is funded.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
