This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a Title I school, which is considered highest poverty, our students are in need of many tools to help them build a stronger educational and active foundation.

Not only are we a Title 1 school with many of our students from low-income backgrounds, but we also have a large group of immigrant students who are just learning to adapt to American culture.

We want to provide them with the best opportunity and equipment to succeed at whatever they put their minds to.

My Project

Our basketball team in need of travel supplies and training supplies for their upcoming season this fall. When we travel to other schools we have old bags or none to transport our equipment. We have to use garbage cans and old chairs for drills and game situations. Our goal is to provide our team with the tools for success during games and practice.

There is not a lot of opportunity at our school for our students to practice, play and travel with the best of equipment.

Our basketball team must use old equipment to travel to and from games, as well as practice. Our goal is to provide our student-athletes with the tools necessary to be competitive and the belief that it's not how you start but how you finish.
