This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an upcoming third year Kindergarten ENL teacher in the heart of the South Bronx. These last two years have been a huge learning experience not only about what students need to learn or know. But also about what students need to feel loved, and supported. There were many tools that were very beneficial with classroom organization and created a safe learning space for students. On the other hand, there were materials that could have made this school year easier.
For instance, my students are using their iPads daily for iReady.
Which means that they need to be charged daily, and organized in a way that students are able to access them independently. With a charging station, it would make students getting their charging iPads more accessible. Lanyards for the hallway and trips make it simpler for students to be identified as kindergarteners in the school and outside of the building, ensuring and reinforcing safety. The colored printer would be super beneficial for making our classroom assignments coming to life especially for my English Language Learners among the other items listed within this project!
