My Project
As a special education resource teacher, I have a multitude of students coming in and out of the classroom for a variety of services and needs. Many of my students need a quiet and calming environment as well as specialized tech resources in order to produce work to their potential in their general education classroom. Items such as light covers and ambient lights will help my students with sensory difficulties focus on their tasks at hand instead of trying to avoid visual overstimulation. Likewise, items such as text-to-speech pens, line readers, and magnifiers will help my visually impaired students and those with reading disabilities access the general education curriculum. Along with these low-tech resources, my students also use high-tech devices in the form of iPads, but unfortunately, our classroom does not have enough outlets to charge each tablet simultaneously.
By supporting our project, you will help us create a positive learning environment that will help students with disabilities including specific learning disabilities, autism, and ADHD to access the general education curriculum.
