Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a Title I School; we are located in a low income neighborhood. They are eager to learn but lack the necessary supplies. School starts in August, and parents struggle to purchase supplies or even uniforms.
Hurricane Harvey left us devastated now we are in the road to recovery.
They come to school with hopes and dreams. I want to enhance their dreams by increasing their knowledge. Fifth grade is a crossroads for my students as they are on their way to middle school. My students enjoy working on workstations.
My Project
As we begin to plan the upcoming school year, we reflect in the ups and down of 2017-2018. Hurricane Harvey left us working together as team to overcome obstacles. I want to give my students what they need, I want to give our parents so peace of mind. We need composition books we used them daily as we create a Math interacting journal. Part of the interacting journal are foldable's we will be using glue sticks and tape. This upcoming school year I want to use dry erase markers to have more hands on activities. Having students solve problems in dry erase boards. Some accessories that keep us organize would be bookends and step file wire desk accessories.
