Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are from a Title I School; we are located in a low income neighborhood. They are eager to learn but lack the necessary supplies. School starts in August, and parents struggle to purchase supplies or even uniforms.
My students are hungry not for food but for knowledge.
They come to school with hopes and dreams. I want to enhance their dreams by increasing their knowledge. Fifth grade is a crossroads for my students as they are on their way to middle school. My students enjoy working on workstations.
My Project
My students are in need of pencils and cardstock paper. Pencils are always disappearing in my classroom. I often buy cardstock paper to make task cards to review previous taught material. The wire hooks I need to hang items around the room. One of these items are my task cards, I hole punch them and have them available to my students. I want to use a label maker to label supplies around the classroom. At this time I am in need of the tape.
This year I want to use an reward/incentive chart to monitor data and behaviors.
To track data and behaviors I need a stamp set. I want to place stamps on the chart and on student assignments. We could always use a stapler we are short one to have one in each of my group tables. To keep my room organize and neat we are in need or library pockets.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
