My Students
Technology, technology will we ever keep up? If you look into my classroom, you would be forced to say no, but I would be willing to help.
My students are energetic, creative, and full of personality.
They enjoy taking risks and trying new learning activities. My classroom is technologically challenged. The students enjoy learning, playing interactive games, and having a chance to explore their creativity. We recently completed presentations where the students dressed up as an influential person and reported on their lives. It was wonderful! I only wish they were able to see themselves stand in front of the peers and speak with such confidence.
Our school is a small town school where students are encouraged to become livelong learners. My school is currently working toward increasing the amount of technology we have available for our students.
My Project
These ipod touches will instantly provide hundreds of educational apps at the student's finger tips. These apps will support curricular goals, allow for differentiation and instant feedback. Since my 36 students share 2 computers, this tool will also allow more students the opportunity to have access to the Internet. Also, lessons can be developed by using several apps together or students can use single apps to review skill-sets.
The flip cam will allow my students and their parents an opportunity to view their presentations and in class activities.
My class consists of a diverse group of eager learners.
My role as a teacher is to tap into the most effective and engaging method of instruction. For example, all students may not respond to reviewing multiplication facts using flashcards, but the ipod touch has hundreds of apps I can choose from that will address the needs of all my learners.
The flip camera will allow the students to view their presentation and reflect on the learning.
