My Students
Please help us get our hands ON some clay for art class because there's nothing students love more than getting their hands INTO clay!!!
My school has a high number of children from low income families and is a public elementary school serving grades K-5.
We are a tight-knit community that strives to provide our students with a holistic approach to learning. Students attend art class once a week and love getting the opportunity to express themselves.
My Project
Students will be able to create hands-on clay pottery inspired by traditional techniques such as creating a pinch pot, coil pot, and slab box. Students will learn that pottery has a rich history all over the world including Mexico, Japan, and Africa.
Art making experiences such as clay pottery allow all students to succeed in developing creative problem solving skills.
This project also fosters an appreciation for other cultures and traditions.
