My Students
My students need new and innovative inspiration in the form of music and DVDs about famous artist as they go about creating their art projects.
I teach Visual Arts to K-5th grade students.
We are a relatively new school and I am responsible for educating approximately 650 scholars in Art. Our school is transient, so our population is continually changing. A majority of our kids are from poverty environments and do not have some of the extras that other students have.
My Project
We need interesting art related music DVDs to listen to while we do our Art work. Often times students talk because they are uncomfortable in a quiet environment. They need noise of some sort! Listening to music will provide that needed noise for my students to be able to concentrate more on their Art work and less on talking. These are art related songs that talk about different artists, art styles and different art processes. The Art history DVDs on the Impressionists and Chuck Close will aid me in teaching my students about major artist and their individual styles.
Help me to get my students' creative juices flowing by funding this grant.
Concentration is the key for working in art. If you can get a student to concentrate, no matter what their ability, they will produce something of quality.
