This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are very hard workers and they are very engaged when working in centers. My students come to class eager to learn and they keep trying even when they are challenged. I make sure to differentiate all work so that all students feel successful every day.
My students are very diverse.
My school is a low-income public charter school with a focus on science and math. I make sure they have many hands-on activities to be engaged in.
We serve K-6 with the focus on preparing the students for college.
My Project
Our classroom does not have any shelves that can be used to divide centers.
This year I'm working on building a kindergarten foundation with one of the most important things is learning how to be organized.
With the shelves, the students will have a place for all manipulatives and know where to return them other than just large plastic bins. The mailbox shelves will be used in the writing center so the students can have a place to put work on until it is finished.
