This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My Pre-K students love coming to school to learn and play with their friends. They think our classroom is perfect. They don't see that if we had a few extra materials, we would be able to do so many more things.
They are happy with what we have, but I want to give them more.
We are the only Pre-K class at our school and my students are a great bunch of kids. They are just starting out and they are so excited to come to school every day.
As their teacher, I try to maintain that excitement so that they will always love coming to school. Most of them come from very low-income homes and have never been in school before entering my class.
My Project
I want to start off the next school year with a clean slate. In order to do this I need cleaning supplies. We will need Lysol Wipes and Swiffer Dusters to get the classroom ready for a brand new group of students. Being able to clean frequently helps maintain a more sanitary environment which helps to cut down on illness related absences.
I am also hoping to be able to take my students on more field trips next year.
In order to do that I will need a cooler to transport our lunches. My school does not provide a cooler for teachers to use on trips so if we don't have one, then our class won't be able to go anywhere. We will also be able to use the cooler when we have fun activities here at school like field day and picnics outside. With this cooler, we will be able to have so many experiences and make so many memories.
