This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are gifted kindergartners who keep me on my toes every day! They are full of questions and spunk. They love learning about anything and everything.

Many come from homes where English is their second language, and over 80% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch.

Many live in areas of low economic development, so they don't always have access to resources at home.

My students make me smile every day! They love school and I think I learn from them more than they learn from me! My passion is learning new ways to challenge them, to teach them creativity and to use technology resources to achieve those goals.

My Project

This project will cover the cost of registration for a professional development conference called Get Your Teach On that is being given by very well-known teachers in the education world. They are going to be sharing their tips and strategies for effective teaching practices. It will be informative as well as inspiring.

I hope to find ideas to help make me a better teacher.

These strategies can be implemented in the classroom with my kindergarten students. I want to create a classroom where my students beg to go to school every day - I think this conference can help me understand how to better do that.

Unfortunately, with budget cuts in our district, professional development is something that is no longer encouraged. If I could get the registration cost covered for this conference, it would really help me grow as a teacher!
