Getting Kids Moving on the Playground!

My students need footballs, soccer balls, basketballs and wall balls to keep them moving at recess and juggling scarves for rainy day recess. Drinking clean water from the water cooler will help kids stay hydrated!

My Students

These students are excited to learn every day. They have one year under their belt, so now they can jump right into learning. They come from all around the world and have a variety of life styles and learning needs. With a high poverty level, many of my students face multiple challenges both in and out of the classroom.

My students love playing different games in and out of the classroom.

They are constantly striving to do their best, and learn as much as possible, This will be a full class of 28 students this year, so it is going to be a fun-filled exciting year of learning.

My Project

My kids are tired of rarely getting to play with the playground equipment because our classroom is one of the farthest away from playground. Our school doesn't have a ton to begin with but what we have goes quickly and if you don't get out their first it is usually gone. My kids thought, if they had their own equipment that they could bring out with them and invite others to play with them, more kids will be able to enjoy games like, basketball, football, soccer, and wall ball during recess. When all the equipment is gone they just either walk around and talk or just sit down and wait in line.

This equipment will not only allow my kids to have things to stay active on the playground, it will also encourage team work and increase sharing opportunities.

Rainy day recess can be tough for kids who need to keep moving, having juggling scarves will give an option for those students. Kids don't like to drink water that doesn't taste good. Having a water dispenser for kids to fill up water bottles will allow them to get their daily intake of water. I am more than willing to fill the jugs if the kids will drink more water!
