Getting Interactive In ELA!

My Project

Many of my students come from diverse backgrounds with varying levels of literacy comprehension. The materials I am requesting will help bridge the gap by creating an interactive experience for each of our novel studies. There are countless possibilities in the realm of ELA but oftentimes students struggle with finding it “exciting” or “motivating.” So many students find inspiration with creativity and with the help of these resources I believe I can encourage higher engagement.

My main goal for this project is to inspire my students to connect required standards with their creativity.

I truly believe that by offering them activities outside of traditional worksheets I can foster their confidence and ability to be successful readers and writers. I mean, what kid wouldn’t like doodling notes!!

A majority of my students enter my class with foundational deficits and get discouraged because they are in a remedial setting. Many of them want to succeed but don’t know how. If I were able to provide them with a new take on a hard subject it could make a world of difference. ELA shouldn’t be scary and I would be honored to help my students find pride in themselves.
