Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We have a diverse population of almost entirely minority students in attendance, including many English learners, and several students who are barely speaking any English. We have great staff members who love the kids and support them in all aspects of their education. Safety is our number one priority in my school.
We hope to provide a well-rounded music education, where music class is “cool,” and kids look forward to coming to class.
We are finding ourselves in need of some supplies to help maintain our growing music program.
My Project
My beginning orchestra students are just starting to learn to tune their own instruments (thank god!). While this will eventually be a huge asset to us, right now, it's a little crazy, and we could use some help. I like to give each student their own tuner to use for the year so that they can learn to grasp the concept initially. Next year, the beginners will move on to tuning their instruments by ear, but initially, using an electronic tuner helps expedite the process while they are still developing their ear's abilities. These tuners will be used in the beginning of class each day to help students get their instruments in tune. Thank you for considering a donation to our school!
