My Students
My golf players are great. As a teacher and a coach, they keep me on my toes to extend and expand their learning beyond the Common Core Standards both in the classroom and especially on the golf course. Additionally, we are always looking for new players. Consequently, I am now looking for resources that provide a pathway into the game for new players.
Unfortunately, our school and district do not have the funds to give us new equipment and it is up to us teachers and students to fundraise our own equipment.
Having found a small space in our school, I think that I can help my golfers and other students to relax, practice and get away from the stresses of everyday school life which is essential for them to achieve their potential in and outside the classroom. The students and I are always focused on aiming for and achieving our greatest learning potential. As a lifelong learner, it is essential for me to learn new ways of learning and allowing my students access to learning.
My Project
We have a really good girls golf team but we are looking to extend the depth of our team. Many girls have shown a keen interest in learning about the game of golf but they don't have access to golf clubs.
We are extremely keen to have as many students play as possible.
We are convinced that many of the obstacles of life can be learned and overcome by strategies developed on the golf course.
As already mentioned, we are trying to grow the depth of our team and we believe that these clubs would be a huge benefit to our golf program in recruiting new girls.
