My Students
My students come from very low economic backgrounds with most of the children receiving free lunch. They are growing and learning the skills to become successful leaders, team mates, high achievers and prominent citizens. My students are eager to set goals and achieve them. But struggle with setting high goals due to their in experience and economic upbringing.
My students are loving, creative, thoughtful and full of questions!
They love hands-on active, engaging activities and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find answers to their problems. They come to school each day ready to learn new things and take chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
My Project
Wireless printers are essential for young writers. Successful students use laptops and wireless printers to write their essays. Every writer champion uses a laptop and printer. Using the Writer's Workshop model, and having a printer my students will begin to see themselves as true authors and illustrators. We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long writers. As the teacher, I have done extensive research and reading on Writer's Workshop in the primary grades. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality. Thanks! Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their be able to complete the project or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
