My Students
Having the ability to coach athletes from my school is a job that I am very fortunate to have. My student-athletes, in particular, are hard workers and strive to become the best that they possibly can both in and out of the classroom.
My baseball players, as well as the track and field athletes I coach come from various backgrounds, with some of them unable to afford gym memberships.
With this being said, having the option of bringing exercise equipment to the practice field would not only allow for variation in practice but would help my student-athletes reach their full potential.
My Project
I have asked for medicine balls of varying weight, in addition to sandbags, and resistance bands. These materials would be a tremendous addition to what I am able to do with my athletes. It would allow me to help them improve their strength, endurance, and general level of fitness.
Performing skill work with my baseball team on a daily basis is important, however, I believe that developing a sound athletic base and general level of fitness is even more important.
The materials listed will help my athletes not only improve their overall fitness, but it will also help them take their game to the next level.
Some of my student-athletes are unable to afford a gym membership. Having the ability to bring fitness equipment to practice, and allow them to work out in addition to practice a skill is something that I know they will appreciate.
