This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Remember when reading was fun? Today's stories that are presented to students through the reading program are not interesting to them. The TAG reading system and books are a great interactive way of teaching my students how to read for enjoyment.
My class is one of two Special Day Programs for children with Autism at my school.
My classroom consists of 13 autistic children. I have 2 girls and 11 boys ranging from kindergarten through second grade. They are all exceptional in their own way! Their thirst for life and learning is unique as much as it is interesting, they never get enough. I love watching their faces light up when participating in the general education setting and in my classroom. They build confidence within themselves when they succeed, which just melts my heart. I love my students so much and want them to experience it all and have it all! It's the least I can do!
My Project
By receiving the TAG readers and books will allow my students to become more excited about reading. The TAG system encourages students through an interactive way. They are able to read on their own or have the book read to them. The TAG reader will be used by all students to better their reading skills and confidence in themselves.
This project is extremely important for my students!!!
I want them to love reading and continue to strengthen their skills. This donation would provide as such a good tool to aid in reading. Plus my students think that when they are playing learning games that they are playing!!!! The TAG will keep them engaged and allow them to read independently and/or with a friend. Thank you so much!!!
