This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"My students are my passion!" As a mom myself, I do my best to not only reach my students academically but to provide them with the social setting they need to be within a classroom that supports them as people. They are all my kids not just in school but out of school too!
In my class we have a mantra: "We may not ALWAYS know, but we can ALWAYS grow!" I try to create a classroom where students feel they can work hard toward understanding what they can do to grow instead of just focusing on getting the right answer.
I work hard to instill in my students that if they focus on having a growth mindset in my classroom that they will achieve great success in and out of my classroom.
My Project
This library will provide my students an inviting and comfortable space that they need to get back into reading. I want to create a classroom library that will be neat and organized so that students may properly choose what they are reading.
Most of my students read a grade or 2 below their level and could really benefit from more time reading independently in our new library .
I want to inspire my 4th graders to find chapter books that make their imaginations soar again. I want them to fall in love with the creativity of Rhal Dahl books, and find books they need to do research.
It would be great to get them wanting to feel a book in their hands. This library will improve not only their reading through the year but their overall confidence in school.
