My Students

Do you remember when it was time to get ready to go back to school? Do you remember how you went shopping to get that new backpack and supplies? Well this is how you can help my students be excited about school this year.

I teach for one of the largest urban school districts in Texas.

As a teacher I always want to make sure my students have everything they need but this year I can't do it alone. Over 80% of my students didn't bring school supplies this year. I bought some things to get us started but I know I won't have enough to make the entire school year.

My Project

I have 18 first graders in my classroom. Its a challenge to get work done when you don't have enough materials for each child to have their own supplies in your classroom. The few that did bring their supplies don't have anything to complete homework or projects at home. Its hard to get excited about projects when you don't have enough of the basic materials such as glue, markers, and pencils to get the job done. I have a writing center waiting for pencils and crayons so that my kids can sit down and write some really awesome stories. If we don't get any extra supplies I don't know what we will do by the second semester. My students need pencils, folders, glue sticks, pencil sharpener, and crayons.

I have a great bunch of kids that really need your support.

I want them to have the basic things such a pencils and folders that every kids should have at school. With your support we can make this happen.
