Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a first-grade teacher of English Language Learners. My students come from different cultural and educational backgrounds. They all bring into the classroom their rich, cultural experiences.
In my bilingual class, I have to teach and ensure that all my students learn all subjects, including reading, writing, math, and science.
My students are at-risk and come from high poverty. Therefore, due to their limitations, my students need additional resources to be able to learn and succeed.
My Project
Every week my students create a project from different writing, reading, math, social studies, or science.
What better way than to motivate my students to learn and create projects than to be creative by using art.
Therefore, I will use these art supplies like pipe stems, yarn lace, and beads that my students will include in their projects. For example, when my students do their projects about characters or biographies, they will use the people and foam shapes. Therefore, I asked for your support.
