My class consists of 12 wonderful students ages three to five. Each student is unique and full of life. My students have special needs consisting of Down Syndrome, Autism or Developmentally Delayed but the one thing they have in common is they all love to learn.
Little hands, inquiring minds, active feet, and big hearts; this describes my class perfectly.
My students love to interact with technology, listen and dance to music, read books and play. They learn best when using their eyes, ears, and hands to participate in activities.
Since my class is usually the first school experience these students have, I try to make it the best! It is important to make my students' preschool experience wonderful so they have a love for learning and a positive interaction with school.
My Project
These materials will help foster creativity in a variety of ways in my classroom. The art materials such as paints, do-a-dot markers, and ink pads will allow students to be artistic. The musical tools like drums and tambourines will let children move and make music during songs. Finally the dress up mask will allow my students to be imaginative during dramatic play or when acting out songs ot stories.
Children need plenty of opportunities for creative play and creative thinking, by providing activities that are based on the student's interests and ideas.
These materials will be used throughout the school day in both structured and unstructured play and activities.
