My students are amazing little bundles of energy that are pretty much setting foot inside a school for the first time when they start Kindergarten! My students come from an area where many of them don't attend preschool and don't have knowledge of even basic skills when they come to school. Our school is in a high poverty area with a lot of moving in and out. Some of our students stay all year, and some we only have for a day or two. But regardless of how long we have them, it is so important to teach them all the basic skills they need to make them successful in life!
My Project
Being able to get these materials for my classroom will really help my students express their creativity. They have a period of time each day in which they can go to various areas in our classroom, including our art area. We have supplies for a lot of different areas in our room, but our art area really is lacking.
I have so many students who love the chance to use paper, glue, and crayons to create different things, but those are the key supplies that we really need more of.
Those are supplies that really need to be constantly replenished because they are so constantly used.
If my students could have these supplies, it would really allow them to be more creative and really express themselves in a way that they truly enjoy.
