My Students
All of my students are learning remotely full-time during unprecedented times. They have already had their worlds turned upside down in March, overnight without any warning that schools would be closed. Now that we are well into our school year, I want to provide them with all the resources they need to learn effectively at home.
My students are from a Title I school where more than three‑quarters of students come from low‑income households.
My Project
As students transition going back into the building for school, I want to provide students with some diverse read-alouds and book sets that inspire them. Help me add to my classroom library with read-alouds that they see themselves in or books that excite them. Students can go on a literary adventure or peek into someone else's story.
Let the classroom be a place where they feel loved, safe and inspired with books.
Some of these books tell stories that can serve as mirrors to students' experiences or be windows to look into and learn about other peoples' stories. Nonetheless, I want to offer my students plenty of good stories to choose from.
