This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Coming from a low-income school district, many of my students face so many challenges in and outside of school. I want the classroom to be one less challenge for them to face when they walk in the room. Every day I want to be able to provide my students with the resources to have creative and meaningful learning experiences and to be able to make their own choices.
The students in my classroom are creative, curious, enthusiastic learners.
I want to create a classroom community where my students feel empowered to solve problems, make choices, and strive for excellence.
My Project
It is that time of year when it is getting colder outside and my students need warm clothes to play at recess and learn outside. I have put a lot of focus on outdoor learning this year and I would love to provide my students with these basic needs to help them learn while we are outside but also allow them to be cozy while they do!
These warm clothes and snacks will help meet their basic needs every day so they can be successful in the classroom and outdoors.
Every day after recess we have snack time, and not every student is able to bring a snack from home. These snacks would allow every student to have something to eat during snack time to help them do their best. I know when I'm hungry it is hard to stay focused, which makes it that much difficult for kids when they are hungry. Food is so important for them throughout the day to give them the energy they need to be successful!
