Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 4th grade at a school in a high-need community. The school has exceptionally high expectations for all students especially students with learning disabilities or special needs.

Many of my students come from low-income families that may not always be able to obtain educational resources. Students in this community have very little exposure to national or world news. These students need to become global thinkers in order to become successful citizens in today's world.

Reading Time for Kids will allow students to study current-events which will provide a reference point that would otherwise be acquired through life experiences. Many of the students in the community where I teach are not exposed to a variety of experiences or information outside of their neighborhood. Time for Kids will provide information that these students may not otherwise be exposed to.

With your power and support we can help all of these young minds to look further than their neighborhood and think globally. Your donation will give the power of literacy and world understanding to each and every student in my class.
