Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We all know the challenges that our students have faced during the pandemic. Instead of being at school and learning to love books, they were stuck at home, in a strange place trying to learn to read through a screen. As we have come back to school, our students have many challenges including, learning how to read, learning how to be in school, and more importantly learning how to do things without a screen.

With the addition of the flexible seating and new books, my students will have the ability to find a seat where they can get comfortable and lost in a good book.

As we try to close the gaps in our students reading levels, if we can provide them books that interest them, we will see an increase in their desire to read. Add to that the choice in seating will limit barriers that could hold them back from being able to focus on the book and their reading.
