My Project
Sensory toys are essential items to use during class activities to aid in students sensory needs. We all have unique outlets that we resort to when seeking relief or comfort. A child with autism frequently seeks comfort through sensory experiences. Sensory toys such as Toddler - Safe Washable Sensory Material Set, Washable Sensory Noodles, Cuddly Puppy Weighted Lap Pad, Tactile Liquid Letters, Play Learn Sensory Tubes, Squish Squeeze Sensory Beads, Mold Play Sensory Sand Set, Ocean Friends Water Play Mat and Fingerpaint Paper all great examples of popular products. Engaging with sensory toys can enhance brain function while also supporting the child's ability to acquire new skills. Autism awareness is more prevalent in our society. Sensory toys are emerging as supportive tools to enhance children's development and learning. Overall these sensory items will self-regulate one or more senses and help each individual student him/her. My goal is to make sure my students are happy, and how to best utilize sensory during play and learning.
