My Students
All students are unique and bring something different to the classroom and community. Our school makes it a priority to get to know each student as an individual and learn about each students likes, dislikes and interests! I teach 16 amazing 9 year olds who are all looking to express themselves as individuals and engage in their specific interests as well as discover new ones! They are capable of so much and I am looking to bring out the best in each and every one of them!
My Project
Flexible seating will give my students the option of taking their learning into their own hands and decide how they can engage in doing their best work throughout the school day! Currently my students only have the option of traditional classroom chairs or our library rug as seating options. My goal is to make my students more comfortable and be able to offer them a wide variety of seating options to choose from. Many of my students have also expressed interest in wanting different seating options throughout the classroom, especially, during independent and cafe reading which they enjoy so much!
Incorporating flexible seating within my classroom will also allow those students who work better when movement is involved be able to do so effectively!
I want to bring out the best in my students and allow them to grow as learners as well as independent individuals and flexible seating will allow this to happen!
