Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach STEAM to grades 1-8. The students in my school each have a Chromebook to use throughout the day. Students are expected to come to school each day with a charged Chromebook and headphones. Many times a student will not have their Chromebook charged or have left their charger at home. Having an area in my class to charge their Chromebooks will help them be ready and able to complete their assignments on time.

A charging station can enhance the learning environment by ensuring that students have the tools they need to succeed and engage fully in their education.

With a charging station, students can ensure their Chromebooks are charged and ready for use throughout the day, minimizing disruptions caused by low battery levels. Knowing that they have a place to charge their devices can reduce anxiety for students who may worry about their Chromebook dying during important tasks or assessments.

Having extra headphones in class will be helpful to my students. Headphones help students focus by blocking out background noise and distractions in a busy classroom environment, allowing them to concentrate better on their tasks. Many educational programs include audio components which students have to listen to instructions, videos, or interactive lessons without disturbing their peers. So, having extra headphones will help the students who do not have their own, as well as students who may have forgotten to bring them to class.

Overall, setting up a charging station can enhance the learning environment by ensuring that students have the tools they need to succeed and engage fully in their education!
