Getting Back to Flexible Seating After the Fire

Help me give my students back flexible seating lost in the Camp Fire. Using wobble seats, wiggle discs, and balance balls helps my students wiggle while maintaining focus. Flexible seating also helps them build core strength during learning.

My Students

Each day I am with my students my heart is healing and being filled with joy. My students are resilient and strong. Most of my students lost not only our school, but their homes as well, in the Camp fire. My students are sweet and thoughtful of others. They are empathetic toward one another and understanding of each others situations. We have been relocated to a different school site. We are working on building our classroom again from the ground up.

Even though my students have lost their homes, and their school, they come each day with smiles, happy to begin healing and being together.

We are working through the healing process together. My students are doing an amazing job getting back into a routine within our new "normal". I am proud to know my students, and am honored to be their teacher -especially during this hard time. I love everything about my students. I am appreciative every day that we all made it out of our old school safe and get to be together each day.

My Project

Before we lost our school in the Camp Fire my class had moved to full flexible seating in our classroom. Balance balls and wobble seats allowed my students to move their energetic little bodies and build core strength while still being able to focus on learning.

We will use the flexible seating items in this project to bring back my students ability to move and build strength while learning.

I am excited to bring back flexible seating to my students as we work toward adjusting to our new normal in our new school. Flexible seating provides my students the ability to focus and learn while wiggling and wobbling in the way their bodies are meant to.
