Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 2nd grade and my students are diverse from low economic homes. I currently teach a busy group of 20 second grade students. The majority of my children are far below grade level. These children come to school every day with very diverse needs. As their teacher and caregiver, it is my goal to ensure that my students are the most successful that they can be. In my room, we constantly look towards to future by considering ourselves the Penn State Class of 2034. Every little bit that you fund, a child gets closer to that goal.

My Project

As a teacher entering her third year, I have learned and grown A LOT these last couple of years. I believe that the first two years are spent getting a good handle on the content and the behavior management aspect of teaching.

My goal for my third year is to really focusing on delivering all content in a hands-on, exciting, and engaging way.

The students learn best when the teacher is excited about teaching, and the Get Your Teach On conference is well known for giving teachers tools and ideas to ensure that this occurs. I am looking forward to learning new tips and tricks that can help me teach my students effectively. Get Your Teach On will provide tools and resources that I can use to increase student engagement in my classroom. I will use the lesson materials and plans provided to teach my students math, science and reading in engaging ways. I hope that I can take what I learn at this conference and provide practical ways to engage and meet the needs of every single learner in my classroom for years to come.
