Help me give my students the Unifix Cubes, pattern blocks, and color tiles they need to become better mathematicians by using these hands on materials.
My students come from all backgrounds, and are in a high-poverty, rural school district. They have all different experiences and background knowledge. My students vary in their math ability. We have implemented a new math curriculum that promotes hands on math learning. This requires a lot of material to give the students what they need.
Hands on math is crucial to student understanding of mathematics.
My students are more engaged when they are learning with hands on material in math. They have a better understanding of math this way. Math is very important to my students' life-long education. The foundation they receive in elementary school will set the stage for their math education throughout life.
My Project
These materials will provide my students the hands on approach they need to use in math. They will be able to use the Unifix cubes to add, subtract, learn place value, and even more. The patterns blocks can be used for teaching patterns, shapes, and fractions.
The possibilities are endless with these materials.
The Unifix cubes and color tiles can be used for measuring many different things in the classroom. The students can use all these materials to further their math education.
Having these materials will allow all my students the ability to use them at the same time during our math lessons and workplaces.
